Oak Grove Elementary Color Walk

  • Oak Grove Elementary had a fun-filled evening with the PTA hosting a Color Walk on April 22, 2016. The PTA had white Oak Grove t-shirts printed for the student walkers. The students could pick some of their own color powder bags to release when the walk began and there were stations manned by volunteers who provided additional color along the path in Oak Grove Park. The children had so much fun and energy that a lot them ran it more like a race! Music was broadcast and event emcee Samantha Getz kept the energy flowing. Some laps included games and the limbo. The Jamison family provided delicious food and treats in the gymnasium. The color powder is actually corn starch and food coloring and the students definitely loved being allowed to get covered in color.
